Consuma Arte: COMER DEL ARTE QUIERO, 2010

The text “Comer del arte quiero” was produced in three occasions: one focusing on the ornaments, another one bringing representative paintings of art history, and the last one including self-portraits of artists who were able to “eat/survive” through art. Each series was made with a minimum of 115,000 candies that were glued one by one with intension and desire, as if weaving a prayer. At first, sweets became a pleasure for the palate and the eyes. But later, the gluttony gave way to disturbing and visual nausea. The limits between pleasure and pester were evident.

Show at Galeria Santa Fe, Bogota (2010); Galería El Museo (2011) and Odeon Art Fair (2012).  25 x 2 m.

115000 sweets, hot silicone glue, and wood panels.
